FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association, ' Wellington, Last Night. The following is Mr. Bates' weather forecast: — Present indications are for variable winds, strong easterlies predominating s'hortly in the northernmost districts, and westerlies changing to sputherlies elsewhere. Expect cold and changeable weather, dull and misty at times, generally with rain in the northern and southernmost districts, and scattered showers elsewhere. Conditions arc somewhat threatening in the ' northern districts, and a storm is at'present raging southward of the Dominion. The barometer is unsteady, with a falling tendency in the north.
