|- CONSTRUCTION OF THE, TRACK. i A ! trtlier step forward with the' ini stal'.auion of the trams in New Plymouth j will be made on May 3, when a start I will be made with the construction of 'the tramway track, commencing at the junction of the Moturoa Road and the South Road. From this point the work will be carried forward eastwards. The rails are now stacked at various points along the proposed route. Rapid progress is being made with the sub-station in Liardet Street, and the buildings at Fitzroy. At the Liardet Street sub-station the work of erecting the shell of the first floor is now in hand. The building will be of | two storeys, and as it was only commenced last February it will be seen that good progress has been made. Seven months is the time allowed for the contract, and the contractors now Anticipate that the work will he finished well within that time. The external appearance of the carshed at Fitzroy gives the impression of completeness, for the bulk of the outside work Ss finished, but there remains a certain amount to be done inside. It ia expected that all the work at Fitzroy will be completed within the next week or two;
