The question of seeuring additional accommodation in the town wag discussed at length, the outcome Ming tHe setting up of a sub-committee to inquire and report upon the erection of a Maside hoselry, and also to wait as a body upon the Toranski Licensing OonunittM at an early date with a Tiew to secaring adequate hotel accommodation. A sub-committee was also appointed to consider the practicability of holding a week's carnival at Christmas time. It was pointed out that by that time tho ; trams would be fully running, and {hat the occasion should be marked in Titling fashion, besides which there was a rea] need for t'le filling in of the time between the races and New Year's Day. when the town is generally full of visitors. The committee will confer with the various sports and seaside committees and, if the proposal is favore3 by 1 them, bring down a definite scheme.
