FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night, following is Mr. Bates's weather summary for the past twenty-four hours:—

Ari intense storm, centred southward of the Dominion, has domtnated conditions, and gloomy weather has been (Experienced generally, with rain in many parts of the South Island. Strong and squally westerly winds have prevailed. Forecast: Present indications are for changeable squally and colder weatlier, with heavy showers in most parts. Expect strong westerly winds, changing to south-westerlies. The barometer is unsteady, but is due to rise everywhere in about twenty-four hours.
