NEW ZEALAND APPLES.
FIXE DISPLAY IN LONDON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, April 20. At the suggestion of the High Commissioner, the Department of Agriculture has been sending forward to him at intervals sample cas;es of New Zealand fruit for the purposes of a display advertisement. Samples of Scarlet iPearinain, Rhodes' Orange, Worcester Pearmain, and Alfriston apples were sent in a ship's cold chamber in February, and the High Commissioner advised that he intended exhibiting them at the Royal Horticultural Society's Show. He lias now forwarded the following cablegram: "At the Horticultural Society's Show to-day at Westminster our display of apples looked remarkably well, and attracted the greatest attention. A silver medal was awarded to our exhibit. To-morrow the apples are to be shown and sold by the Army and Navy Co-operative Stores. There can be no doubt as to the- future prospects of our apples on this market. All that is required is that they be properly packed and carried and dealt with here. Members of the fruit trade were invited to attend."
