RAILWAY COLLISION.
MIGHT HAVE BEEN WORSE. Sydney, April 10. The crash of the collision was lieard for miles. The situation was saved by the fact that a few hundred yards before reaching Binalong / the express ran to slow live miles an hour in order to cross a bridge which was being reconstructed, and the cool promptitude of tho driver in applying the brakes. According to custom, the Temora train should have been In the siding, which, however, was occupied by a goods train, and the Temora train was standing at the platform. The express was supposed to pass between the two trains. It is stated that the express had the signal "all clear," but this is uncertain.
