RAILWAY COLLISION.
SEVENTEEN PEOPLE INJURED.. ONE VICTIM SUCCUMBS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 'April 18, 3.30 p.ra. Sydney, April 18. A train smash is reported, seventeen being injured. The Temora train waa standing at Binalong station, -which is approached by a sharp bend, preventing a view of incoming trains, waiting for the express to pass. Both trains were heavily laden with passengers. A' sharp application of the brakes of the express threw many out of their seats and sleeping bunks, and greatly reduced the impact, otherwise a disastrous smash must have occurred. Robert Thomas, a well-known Temora resident, lias succumbed to his injuries. ThaiI others are mostly suffering from cuts, bruises, and shock. A party of Federal legislators was aboard the express. The PostmasterOneral (Mr. Spencc) received cuts on' the face. Senator Watson cuts on the. face and head, Senator McDougall cuts on the nose and knees; Representatives' Carr and West, cuts on the face. Nonawas, seriously hurt. Joseph Cook waa thrown out of his bunk and severely, shaken, lie tainted but soon recovered. The cause of the collision is not stated.
