BIG SALE OF SHORTHORNS.
FOUR HUNDRED PEDIGREE CAT'J LE SOLD.

A dispersal sale of the well-known I e Ante herd of Shorthorns, one of the largest and best of its kind in the Dominion, was held on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Nearly 400 head of pedigiee cows and bulls were catalog-fid, find the' sale realised over £15,000, which is believed to bo a record for the Dominion for one sale. Buyers, were represented from ail parts of. the Doni'iiion and Australia. The highlit prices realised were 310 guineas "10< guineas, 200 guineas, 195 guineas, and l.» 0 guineas for bulls, and 270 guineas guineas, 240 guineas, 100 guineas, and 150 guineas for cows. The prineir.nr buyers were: Messrs H. B. and A. B. Williams, who were buying for their Queensland property; Sir Walter Buchanan, of Masterton; Messrs Arch. McLean, Greenhill, Hawke's Bay. Q.
