The attendance ivas fair. Race" goers were surprised that Mountain Knight was e'.ected to run in the Place Handicap in preference to the A.J.C. Tlate, in which Ulva's tsle was engage ed. The New Zealander was installed as favorite, and justified his selection, MacLaehlan scoring easily. Don Q., Bercola and Forest Prince were engaged in the Steeplechase. Forest Prince, ridden by Moon, put up a geat finish. The A.J.C. Plate proved a good tiling for Ulva's Isle. Results:— ROUS HANDICAP, of 500. sovs; one mile and three furlongs:—Giro, 8.7, 1; Toast, 7.7, 2; Royal Rufus, 7.0, 3. Eight started Bobadinc led early, but Secret Service overhauled him. fliu challenged at the distance. Won by one length and a quarter, third horse four lengths away. Time, 3min 24 1 / 2 sec. •PLACE HANDICAP, of 750 sovs; one mile and a quarter.—Mountain Knight, 8.8, 1; Necktie, 7.3, 2; Taunter, 8.0, 3. Eleven started. Offa and Mountain Knight were the first to show out. Offa led for a mile from Scotch Artillery and Mountain Knight. SECOND STEEPLECHASE, of 500 sovs; about three mile.—Torone, 10.8, 1; Forest Prince, 11.13, 2; Icon, 10 0, 3. Nine started. Don Q. made the pace for the first round from Icon, Forest Prince and Torone. The latter led into the straight. Forest Prince gamely challenged, but was unable to overhaul the leader. Won by a length and a half, the third horse forty lengths back. Time, Cmin 4()%scc. A.J.C. PLATE, or 2000 sovs; Weight ■for age; three miles.—Ulva's Isle, 9.0, 1; Sir Alwynton, 9.2, 2; Frasa, 9.5, 3. Only starters. The order was unhanged throughout. Won by two lengths, with Sir Alwynton fifteen lengths away. Time, amin 32y 2 sec. SECOND NURSERY HANDICAP, of 750 sovs; one mile.—La Penna, (5.12, 1; Westcourt, 0.1, 2; Lineage, 7.6, 3. Fifteen started. Lineage and Longacre were first to show out. Ornata led into the straight, but was overhauled by La ■Penna at the distance. Won by a head, third horse three lengths'away. Time, lmin 41% sec.

FINAL HANDICAP, of fiOO sovs; nine,, 1 furlongs and 100 yards.—Charleville, 8.0, 1; First Principle, 8.0, 2; Hushmoney, 8:5, 3. Twenty started. Aurifer, First Principle and Hushmoney made the running, and First 'Principle led into the straight. Chaadeville challenged at the distance. Won by three-quarters of a length, two lengths between second and third. Time, 2min 0 £sec.
