Mills and Sparrow, dated London, February 28, l!) 15: Butter.—After an easy market during the early uart of the week, the trade unproved considerably, and at the close prices are quite firm. Danish was unchanged. New Zealand at one period (luring the week sold as low as 128s. General trade in this country continues wonderfully good on all descriptions of provisions, and there seems to be no possibility of low prices. Danish 132s to 130s; Siberian none offering; Australian: Victorian, finest salted 128s to 130s, unsalted 128s to 1325 ; good fine salted 125s to 1255, unsalted 124s to 12Cs; New South. Wales: Finest salted 126s to 130s, unsalted 138s to 132s- good fine salted 124s to 1255, unsalted 124s to 120s; Queensland: Finest salted 126s to 128s unsalted 128s to 1325, good fine salted 124s to 1255, unsalted 124s to 120s; New Zealand: Finest salted 130s to 132 a, unsalted 132s to 1345; Argentine: Finest salted none offering. Colonial arrivals this week consist ofAustralian: .s.s. Transport 37 8900 boxes, s.s. Maloja 32,524 boxes, s.s. Borda 220 boxes, s.s., Suevic 4807 boxes, s.s. La' Blan'ca 12,570 boxes, s.s. Ayrshire 2870 boxes; New Zealand: s.s. Kia Ora 500 boxes, s.s. Manmri 55,000 boxes. Cheese—The market has got a little stronger during the week.on New Zealand, and quotations finish about Is per cwt. higher. Canadian continues very firm and unchanged. Tiie Australian which has arrived is very satisfactory, and is making very fine prices. Canadian 80s to 02s; New Zealand 87s to 80s; Australian S7s to 89s. Arrivals—New Zealand: s.s. Kia Ora 10.000 crates, s.s. Mamari 1.4000 crates. Bacon.—Wiltshire Cut: There has been a slightly improved demand, and, although receipts are on a very heavy scale, the consumption continues wonderfully good, and prices are fully upheld. Irish 501b to 701b 77s to' 83s; Banish 501b to 701b 75s to 78s; Canadian 501b to 701b 71s to 745. Cumberland Cut: Owing to very large shipments from America, this cut is easier, as we cannot quite absorb the .heavy supplies. Canadian 05s to 08s; American 01s to 01s; Australian 01s to 635. Lomv Cut llama: These goods are. depressed, and prices continue to decline. Canadian 121b to 101b 05s to 08s; American 121b to 1011) 02s to 08s.
■Lard. —Market steady at close, although prices have eased during the week. American 2Sib to 38 lb boxes 53s Cd to 555.
TRUST AGENCY DIVIDEND. London, April 11. The Trust Agency of Australasia has declared a dividend of 10 per cent, for the year. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. Wellington, April 12. Following is the High Commissioner's cable under date London, April 10. (Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, arc average market prices on the spot):— The wheat market is not quite so firm, with a downward tendency. Mutton. Fair demand continues. North Island Od per lb to as high as Old for best quality light-weight. Poorer demand for ewes at s}d. Lamb.—The market is rather duller and shows signs of weakness. There are only a few Canterbury lambs at the market, and they are realising B|d per lb to BJd. other than Canterbury Bd.
Beef.—Less demand as the result of heavy arrivals of chilled. New Zealand hinds OJd per lb, fores Gd.
Butter.—The market is steady. Danish ]3Bs per cwt. to 1425, New Zealand 134s to 130s, unsalted 138s to 140s, and up to 1425. Australian 130s to 132s unsalted 132s to 1365, Siberian 128s to 130s, Argentine, 128s to 1325. Cheese. —The market is steady. The Canadian market is quiet, but firm. White and colored per cwt. 94s to 98s. New Zealand not quite so firm; white 93s to 945, colored 92s to 935, Australian 80s to 82s, United States large ehoddar shapes 90s to 91s, English cheddar firm, 100s to 104s. The estimated Canadian and United States cheese stocks at London, Liverpool, and Bristol on April 1 were 79.000 boxes, mostly from the United States, as against 73.000 at the same time last year. New Zealand and Australian'cheese stocks at London and Bristol on April 1 were 19,000 crates, not including steamers docked but not discharged, against 77,000 crates at the same time last year.
Hemp.—The market is quiet and prices slightly weaker. New Zealand good failgrade per ton £34 10s, fair £32 10s, fair current Manila .£4O. Forward shipment good fair £34, fair £32, fair current Manila. £39 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 19,000 bales. Wheat—The markets is dull and prices irregular. Canadian and American on passage 02s per quarter, April or May 01 s, Argentine on passage 00s. Oats.—Market inactive. Argentine on passage 2Ss per quarter.
LONDON WOOL SALES. Dnlgety- & Co., Ltd., bave receive! cabled advice from their Loudon Office that the fourth series of wool sales which been fixed to take place on the 20th instant, have been postponed until the 2/th owing to the congestion of the docks.
