NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. A pairs best ball bogey match was played on the New Plymouth Club's links at Waiwakaiho on Saturday. [There was a good entry, but few cards I were returned. The-best scores were:— A. Bewley and J. D. Scott, 4 up; W. 0 Douglas and 11. E. Bloxam, 3 up; F. S. Johns and 11. Eraser, 2 down; R. T. McQuade and Brash, 2 down; Paton and A. Osborne, 3 down. The season will be officially opened on Saturday, when mixed foursomes will be.played. This event usually proves one of the most popular of the season, and it is hoped there will be many entries, while a fine day should induce many visitors to go out to the links.
