The following; in a copy of 11 telegram received by the secretary of the 'l'ost (Mice from the postmaster at Rotorua: "(luide McCormack reports that the Waimangn geyser, which lias been (lormant for years, broke out at '1 p.m., and ;mvo a brliliaut display lasting over an hour. Ihe highest shoot being about !il(i feel. A round-trip party had a few minutes previously been examining the crater, and were not very far awav when they were startled by a. terrific roar. All the debris fell in' the opposite direction to the party."
