DEMAND A BIG INCREASE.
London, April 8. Received April 9, 12.45 a.m. The Coal-owners' Association refused the Minors' Federation's request for a joint conference to discuss the 20 per cent, increase, but is prepared to discuss the demand at the Conciliation Boards in the respective districts. The miners' executive decided, failing a further effort to secure a national conference, to summon the federation for 'April 21 to determine a line of action.
