FIFTEEN ACCEPTED TOR THE
FRONT.
Between ninety and a hundred men .volunteered for the sixth reinforcements for the front from No. 29 area," which includes the territory from fiahotu, New Plymouth, Inglewood, Waitara, and thence up the coast to Mokau, but onlv 47 were required from 'the whole of Taranaki. Fifteen were accepted from the area above mentioned, and have been ordered to report themselves at the Coronation Hall, New Plymouth, at 13.30 a.m. on Faiday, April 10, leaving by the mail train that morning for Trentham camp. Their names are:— . Thompson Thwaites, New Plymouth. S. L. Gyde, Tataraimaka, - G. E. Tickner, New Plymouth. G. Morrow, Rahotu. Charles Brown, New Plymouth. T. G.' Falvey, New Plymouth. Percy B. Whitcomhe, New 'Plymouth. S. Bezzant, Urenui. It. A. Kirton, Uruti. ; J. F. M. Fleming, Waitara. C. 11. Rae, Tongaporutu. T. A. I'au, Mokau. A. S. Stromberg, Lepperton. 13. G. Goodwin, Inglewood. E. J. Herbert, Korito Road.
A NEW ZEALANDER KILLED.
Timaru, Last Night.
W. Fericr, photographer, has received a cable from the War Office that his son Colin, aged 24, a lieutenant in the Royal Fusiliers, was killed by a shell in a dug-out at Ypres on Noviemher 11th. He had -been a lieutenant in the Timaru Territorials, and had just gone Homo to study as an architect. On the outbreak of war he joined the Royal Fusiliers.
