BARTON BROS.' CIRCUS.
The advent of a circus to any town is the cause of considerable excitement, and it is safe to say that the annual visit of Barton Bros.' Circus, which wilt appear to-night on the old location at Devon Street West, for a one-niglit season i will prove no exception to the rule. Pleasurable memories of previous visits, to say nothing of the fact that the bill tills evening contains quite a large number of new turns, will ensure a crowded house. The Westport Times, reporting on a recent performance, says:—"A huge audience greeted Barton Bros, again, and the manner in which the new programme was received bears ample demonstration of the fact that the show this year is superior to anything suen in a circus arena for some considerable time. The programme is so laden with thrilling, exciting and graceful acts that at moments one feels annoyed at the danger-dipping feats of equilibrium and daring which permeate a long programme. Each performer is an adept at his or her own line, of business. Whilst the cleverness and sagacity of the trick horses and ponies is more than appreciated, the canine intellect of the French poodles is absolutely bewildering. The show is a credit to the firm, and they deserve the good hearing now" being accorded them."
