TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION FORMED: By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchureh, Last Night. At a meeting held on Saturday a N>>w Zealand Technical School Teachers' 'Association was formed, with power to register under the Education Act, and f>o - come under the Teachers' Court of Apueal. Fourteen delegates were present, all the technical day schools except at Dunedin and Wellington being repieBented. The constitution adopted provides that members must belong ti » local association and must be en t r ;!t!;',M twenty hours at least in teaching"or supervising or giving instructions under the manual and technical regulations. The executive consists of a president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer, and four others, at least two of whom Inust be women. Not more than one director can have a seat on the eKeeutive.

The annual general meeting will take place in January of each year. Each association is allowed one vote for ovcrv four members.

The objects include the promotion of < exchanges of teaching schemes and the bringing together or teachers of t!w annus subjects at different technical schools.

Officers were elected:—President, Mr. I. E. Newton, M.A. (Christchurch); vi<wpresident, Mr. A. D. Treadwell, A.8., I C. 0. (Auckland); secretary, Mr. G. J. IV.'k (Christchurch); executive: Misses Wilton, M.A. (Invercargill), Little (Duredin), Messrs R. Thompson (Aucklaud), W. A. Armour, M.A., M.Se. (Wangilnui; j auditor, Mr. N. Ooldsbury, A.T.A.N.E. (Christchurch).

It was decided to endeavour to arrange • a conference of secondary school teachers in connection with the. forthcoming election of the Council of Education .
