AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIP
MEETING.

The Auckland Provincial Golf Championship mooting and Handicap Tournament was commenced here in fine but cold weather yesterday. The following players qualified for the first round of the championship:---S. Morpeth 173, S. Upton 181, F. J. Sliarland/182, ,T. C. Duma 183, W. B. Colbeek 18,"), W. R. Ralph 187, D. MacConuirk 18S, N. R. Mackintosh ISO, R. M. George 103, R. 0. Gardner 103, 11. C. Tonk 194, W. 0. Grace 10(1, C. F. Gardner 107, J. B. Lusk 100, 1). Prvde 109. C. C. Holmes I). Hay, and F. V. Kelly 200 each. These player's will play off for the sixteenth place. The Modal Handicap, played in conjunction with qualifying rounds, was Won by & Upton 181-20-161.
