KAPONGA RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Kaponga Eugby football Club was held in tlio Town Hall o„ Saturday evening, the president, Mr A. 11. Guy, presided over' a meeting of about 21) members. The report and balance-sheet were presented, and siiowed the club to be at last owe more i n u fairly sound financial position, the balance-sheet showing a credit balance, in the Bank of New Zealand of .-C2l 13a sd. As far as the club's playing position was concerned, tlie pa-it season was probably the best in its history. For the first, time since the club Avas formed, a Kaponga team won a Taranaki championship, this honor falling to the second junior team, with a record of six wins (one by default) and one loss. They scored 41 points and had 10 scored against them. Of these they scored three in playing oil' against Clifton at Stratford. The first juniors alio did very well. They won six mUtehos, two by default, and lost two. They proved themselves the most prolific sjorer.s of all the teams, getting 70 points against 17. The seniors played only live games, of which they won three an 1 lost two. Thoy scored 55 points and had ■lrt scored against them. They also won two matches by default, whilst the final game against Ifawera, was cancelled by the Union. Financially the club suli'erer considerably owing to the number of forfeits dealt out to it, and it was considered the Union should take some steps to put a stop to this practice. The election of officers then took pl.ico and resulted as follows:—Patron. Mr C. A. Wilkinson, M.P. (re-elected); vicepresidents (limited to five), Messrs J. W. Carter, 0. Lyall, ('. P. Crowley, F. Sortie (all re-elected), and B. Fearon; secretary and treasurer, M. F. Voulkure (re-elected); auditor, J. B. Bonnie (reelected) ; delegates to Union, Messrs E. Mills (re-elected), and B. Fearon; Management Committee, Isfessrs 0. P. Crowley, Alex. Paterson (both re-elected, B. Fearon, John Kissiek, Dan Ma-lone, and President and Secretary; senior selection committee, Messrs C. P. Crowley, Alev. Paterson (both re-elected), and John Kissiek; junior selection commiiteo, Messrs Guy and Malone (re-elected). It was decided to nominate three teams for the competitions. It was decided to hold the opening practice on Saturday, April. 10th.
