LIBEL ACTION FAILS.
A DOCTOR'S COMPLAINT

Dr. Neumann sued the newspaper Orange Leader for £2OOO damages for alleged libel, in commentig, without mentioning any name, that a German doctor had not passed a single candidate as fit to take up arms against his countrymen.
The evidence showed that plaintiff was naturalised and has passed 29 out of 32 candidates examined. Defendant's counsel contended that the article was published from a high sense of public duty and did not contain any personal malice. No name was mentioned. A verdict was give n for defendant.
