Financiers predict an early settlement, believing the fact that Oermany has arranged credit with America, where she can now buy little, is due to the desire to finance early purchases the moment peace is restored. On_ the other hand, an American returned ironi Germany declares that Germans hate (England fiercely. T'l'ey' next hate America, but arc willing to shake hands with France. They regard Russia as merely stupid and unworthy of the attention of superior people. America is supplying the Allies with ammunition, which is regarded as a heinous offence.
