HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. Wellington, March 21). Following is the High Commissioner's market report under date London, March _ 27. (Note—Quotations, unless otherwise specified, arc average market prices on spot):— % Mutton.—The market is steady, with moderate demand. North Island fid per lb., ordinary quality 5-Jd, ewes s|d. Lamb.—The market continues to sho.v active .demand. The market is firm, with a hardening" tendency. Other than Canterbury, 7Jd and as high as Sd for best quality, second grade 7|d. Beef.—The market is quiet, but steady. New Zealand hinds Old, fores 6d, c.h'ilI led hinds 7Jd fores fi^'d. Butter.—The market is very quiet and prices irregular. Danish slow, per cwt. 1.40s to 1435. New Zealand quiet and prices easier at 130s to 138s, occasionally 140s, Australian 1325, Siberian fair demand. 130s to 1345, Argentine slow l 132s to 13os.

Cheese.—The market remains firm on Government buying, but the general demand is quiet. Canadian iirm, white and colored per cwt 94s to 90s, New Zealand quiet, white and colored 93s to 945, Australian quiet 89s to 925, United States fair demand 88s to 945.

Hemp.—The market is firm and prices continue to advance. The market is active for future delivery. New Zealand ood fair grade per ton £34 10s, fair £32 10s, fair current Manila £4O. Forward shipments New Zealand good fair £35, fair £33, fair current Manila £-10 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 24,000 bales.

~ Wlieat.—The market is inactive and holders are more willing to sell. Prices are nominal. Canadian and American on passage per quarter 635. April-May fils, Argentine on passage 01s, April to May COs.

, Oats.—The market is quieter, Argen tine 20s per quarter for any position.
