LATE BISHOP GRIMES.
FUNERAL CEREMONY TO-DAY

Christchurch, March 25.
The burial service for Bishop Grimes took place this morning in the Cathedral. The requiem mass was sung by Bishop Olenry, assisted by Dean Hills. There was a large gathering, and the building was crowded. Among those present were representatives of the Governor, public bodies and institutes.
Archbishop O'Shea pronounced a panegyric and briefly expressed the thanks of the Catholic clergy and laity for the kind messages of sympathy from all creeds and classes in the Dominion. He thanked the Government, and the, Govcror in particular. Aftcv referring to Bishop Carter he said that the departed prelate had a great love for the Dominion, for which he always predicted a great future. The church had sustained a great loss, but was not without a great hope. Grief had drawn many together [mil would help to draw close those, of various creeds.
