Quiet and occasionally easier. LONDON WOOL SALES. London, March 23. Wool—Merinos unchanged. Animated competition for cross-breds, prices being against buyers. The New Zealand Mount Stewart clip brought top price, 18d; average, 17ygd. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from tlieir London house, under date 24th instant:—Wool sales.—Good competition as compared with March 5. Faulty merino 7% per cent, lower; cross-bred, greasy 5 to 7%' per cent, higher; slipe, scoured, in favor of sellers. LONDON PUR SALES. Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated 20th instant: — At the fur sales held this week there was no demand and practically everything was withdrawn. For opossum skins priceg showed a decline of G5 per cent, as compared with last March. No wallaby skins were sold. Fox skins were 10 to 30 per cent, lower.
