A meeting of the »:nst, End Bathing Reserve Committee was held last evening, when Mr. F. C. J. Bellringcr presided over an attendance of about twentysix. Several accounts were passed for payment. and it was decided that all accounts must be sent in every month. Tlio name of Mr. 0. Lambert was added to the committee. A vote of thanks was accorded to the Mayor (Mr. J. E. Wilson.) for a. donation of two gufueas. Some discussion took place in connection with the, baby show to be bold in connection with the Eastfrr Carnival, and it was decided that it divided into two classes, viz., 0 months and under, and from 0 to 18 months. Additions to the programme were also made, including an obstacle race on the river, pillow fighting on a boom, and an American pony race. During the day a donation by Mrs. Ewing. will be'auctioned in aid of the Belgian Fund.

The "East End tug-of- war team was selected as follows:--Messrs Bennock, W. Hardwick. ;T. Deller, T. Smith, S. Stroud, A. Milne (coach), ft was agreed to request Mr. E. Whittle to act as judge and Mr. ,T. Bennett as timekeeper. Tt was also decided to procure medals for each member of the winning team :n the physical drill competition,' in addition to the team cup. Airangements w ill be made to procure more Pohutukawas to place in the reserve.

The Borough Council will be asked to metal the road before Easter, and to supply more kerbstones as thev became available.
