HAWERA CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Hawcra Club was held on Saturday evening. The credit balance was shown at £O9 18s 7d, and the, assets at £B4 18s 7d. It was stated in the report that the club had given the following players to the Empire:—A. Catclipole, R. Murphy, L. Winks, C. Street, Horace Whittington W. Grant, L. Bishop, J. Carnitbers and L. Sheahan.

In regard to the prospects for the coining season, it was at the present juncture hard to estimate the probable strength of the. various teams, but with the material in the district there should he no difficulty in placing fairly strong teams in the field. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. A. Hunter (re-elected); president, Mr. E. Nalder (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs J. Grelg, H. K. Whittington. G. Tocker; club cap'tain, Mr. IW. Cowper; secretary. Mr. L. G. Beamish; treasurer, Mr. A. Dunlop; auditor., Mr. R. F. Page; general committee, 11. Whittington, R. Greenbanks, J. Goodwin, Robertson, Clout, Spratt, R. Winks, S. George; C. Langdon, P. Murphy, Turnbull, Barry; selection committee, Messrs Beamish, Robertson and Whittington; delegates to the union, Messrs E. Nalder and W. Cowper. It was decided to open the season on Easter Monday, and the secretary was instructed to arrange a match with an outside club on that day.
