An action for slander is set down for hearing at the Magistrates Court'on March .!oth. in which the plaintiff, a married lady, is claiming £2OO damans from a well-known resident of the township.
The site of the junction of the railway witji the main line is of special interest to this ciul of the district. The Elthani Chamber of Commerce are m ining every effort to have the junction distance north of Tc Roti. The Muvcra Chamber are alert, however, and it behoves the Normanbv Town Board to make some move in the matter. The site selected for the junction is a few chains north of the To Roti station. Some time ago 1 ch>-,v attention to the unsatisfactory postal arrangements, ail l at hist meeting of the Town Board a member drew attention to the niatt»r, and it was resolved to write to the 1 ostmaster-Cenera.l and ask that a delivery of telegrams and letters he made at least once every day. What i.s required, however, is a ~'ost office in the township, and a littfle pressure in right quarter should bring this about.
