SPORTS MEETINGS.
AT OKATO. At a well-attended meeting at Okato on Saturday night Mr. B. T. Booker presiding, it was decided to hold a picnic sports meeting oil the Okato sports ground on Easter Mondav. Half the proceeds will be devoted to the Belgian Relief Fund, and the balance to the Sports Ground Improvement Fund. The following were elected to' make the necessary arrangements:—General committee: Messrs B. T. Hooker, ,1. L. Power, L, Carey, E. Lcedom, ,T. Wooldrid":' O'Sullivan (.')), Putt (2), 11. Julian, W. Hibberd, W. Harvev. J. Hockey, Eustace, Ryan (2), ll.'Corbett, R. Andrews, H. Brennan, I'. Gable, and R. Lursen. The programme will consist of the usual lunning events, with some novelty items, and there will be a tug-ef-wa'r (district teams). Several horse events will be included, among which may be mentioned a trottSng match for milkeart horses. It was decided to hold a dance in the evening, and the following [hi nee committee was appointed: Messrs R. Andrews, 0. Eustye, H. Corbett, ],. Carey, (:. Ryan, 0. O'Kullivan, and ,T L Power. Mr. W. Corbett offered to provide twelve blocks for a local chop, and this item was added to the programme.
