TROOPERS FROM EGYPT.
PRISONER TRTES TO GET AWAY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Duncdiu, March lfi. Of the returned troopers from Egypt, ten who deserted at Albany were sent north this morning. Prior to their departure some excitement was caused :>y one member trying to make bis escape from the central batteries. He was caught in an hotel. The other two members who had been brought back 011 account of misconduct in Egypt have been discharged, as they had received punishment for their offence bv the military authorities in Egypt. Of twenty-two invalided soldiers who were admitted to Dunedin Hospital, five have been discharged from the institution as totally recovered. These men have been detained in the hospital, and one was sent for special treatment. None of the cases are. associated with the diseases that occasion so much talk.
