WAITARA. At the usual weekly meeting of the Patriotic Committee on Monday evening the secretary submitted a balance sheet of receipts and expenditure up to date, showing the receipts to have ' been £ 134(5 2s 7d. The expenditure was as follows:—Empire Defence Fund f* Belgian Belief Fund £OOO,. Belgian Christmas Fund £O3 fis, English Relief Fund £IOO, Regimental Fund £l2 10s, troopers' kits and expenses £23 12s Gil. "ear-marked" donations £2O 18s lid, printing and advertising, inclusive of publication of " Tlie Patriot" £l7 12s 3d, petty expenses £3 fls fid, balance in hand' £lO4 13s sd; total £1346 2s 7d. i A further sum of £3O 15s lid was receivod at the meeting, making the total £1370 IBs Gd.
