You could wish for nothing more becoming to accompany your present attire. The autumn costumes and gowns are now showing, and all who wish to see "what is coming in again" should lose no time in studying the authoritative styles. Such was the success of last year's importations of evening wear that this season the firm's Home buyer was given practically carte blanche' in this direction, and the result is to be seen in the unusually brilliant showing of evening coats, blouses, evening frocks, and over-dresses, well supported by matching underskirts. Costumes were never better bought or more truly representative of the latest. dictates from the directeurs of fashion. For the little girl, for grandmother, and for all the women in the intervening stages, Ambur.v's haw, a costume that will fit and please, Coats in the modish checks and astracham and gabardines are in such numbers and variety that it will he passing strange to find a lady ununited after inspection. The colors tliis year are bright, another reflection of the military wave. There is a fine range of golf skirt- 1 , with pockets. Xot the least important feature in this attractive exhibition is the beautiful arrav of new dress and costume fabrics. It was surely the woman of good ta-to that Dame Fashion was considering when she evolved thes,, charming materials. Never were the colors more subilned in tone: never were th« marvellous fabrics for evening wear more softly radiant. Tile F.uropeaii buyers were most fortunate and successful in their selection, and Messrs Auibnrv Uros. claim fiat not even in the large centres will there be found a more representative range of the new fabrics. Til,, wealth of beauty and style in this opening display is such that 110 woman in the district should fail to view it.
