NELLIE STEWART. DOROTHY O; THE HALL. There are manj 7 exciting incidents in " Dorothy 0' the Hall," the great historical costume play, in which Miss Nellie Stewart will appear at the Theatre Royal next Saturday evening. _ The spectacular and realistic effects introduced into the play are vividjy presented. The storm of thunder and lightning in the watch-tower scene, is particularly well done, and realism is surely presented to the full in the breaking of huge panes of glass in the windows of Dorothy's room bv the wilful young lady in one of her tantrums, and again by the bursting open of the really solid door by the soldiery in quest-of Mary Queen of Scots; howDorothy saves tlie life of the Queen by changing clothes with her, and how she actually fights a duel witii her owii cousin, Sir Malcolm, and eventually escapes in boy's dollies arc a, series of scenes that hold the audience breathless. Dorothy Vernon is a part after Miss Stewart's own heart. Coquettish, gay and alluring, she is yet the strong and dominating figure of a, story of absorbing interest. The play is rich in comedy, in which Mi<s Stewart, reminds one of her delightfully humorous touches in " Sweet Nell." The company is numerically one of the strongest that has yet toured Ihe 'Dominion. Nearly seventy persons are travelling with a huge quantity of scenery and costumes. The box plans will be opened at Collier's next jrimrsda.v morning.
