MILITARY CAMP.

CHAPLAIN'S REPORT. At the monthly meeting of the managers of St. Andrew's Church held on Friday evening, Rev. T. H. Roseveare reported on the work that had been dona v' by himself as chaplain and by the committee that had been set up to work with him in connection with the miltary camp just concluded. That committee t had been able to secure a marquee kind- ; ly lent by the Wanganui Presbytery and also special expeditionary force liymn books lent by the Wellington Chaplain's Committee, to which bodies their thanks are heartily tendered. The work had taken a. somewhat different form from what had been at first proposed, as it had been arranged first to co-operate .*■-'■ with the Rev. A. Reader, Methodist chaplain, and then, w:r.h the Y.M.C.A. ; committee, which was laying down plans , of action similar to their own. This co- ] operation had proved most satisfactry, ' ; as it made united action possible, and prevented any overlapping of activities The chapslains found Mr. Hanua, representative of the Y.M.C.A., a most genial co-worker. The social part of the wtyk had been enthusiastically carried out by the Y.M.C.A. Committee,' and the chaplain's work had consisted for thfi main part, in conducting prayers each evcening with the men, ,having quiet talks with those who desired it, ani "*- holding church parade on Sundays. Mr Roseveare spoke in terms of t!i« highest praise of the help and co-opera-tion of the officers, stating also that the latter had all spoken in appreciative terms of the work done in the marquees as being an aid to discipline anl good fellowship among the men, As a token of their appreciation, tbe officers ' had made a donation to each of tha three marquees on the ground, viz % the Presbyterian, the YM.C.A. and tho C.E.M.B.
