For Technical College Oliver hatted vigorously for •10 (including S boundaries); Wright bi (not out) and Penniall (10) wore the other double figure scorers. THE THURSDAY COMPETITION. INGLEWOOD v. HIGH SCHOOL. The Thursday competition was advanced another stage yesterday. Onlyone match was played, and that resulted in a twolpoint win for Inglewood r~ainst High School. The best performances were: — WITH THE BAT. Sutherland (Tnglewood) 78 MoMurray (High School) 54 McKenzie (Inglewood) 32 Montcath (High School) 30 WITH THE BALL. McEae (Inglewood) 4 for 29 MoMurray (High School) 3 for 20 J-ligh School wont in first, and put up the respectable total of 128. McMurrav (.34) and Monteath (30) batted well, and added 50 for the third wicket before the latter played Sutherland on. MoMurrav was not beaten by Moßae until the ninth wicket fell at li'S. McKenzie (32) and Mooro, (21) opened well for the local team and the scores stood at 41 before a separation was effected. L. Sutherland joined McKenzie, and, opening carefully, plav was carried to 80 before the second wicket foil. Mcßae and Cle"~ Iro'pod Sutherland to pass School's total before the fall of the fourth wicket. Sutherland, who was now playing forceful cricket, was run out at 151.
