FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. Present indications arc for moderate to strong southerly and south-easterly winds, equally at times in Cook Strait and between Kaikoura and East Cape. Cold, unsettled weather is likely to continue generally, with rain, especially in the east coast and northernmost districts. There is evidence of the development of a barometric depression to the north-eastward of the Dominion, and a very cxtcnisve storm area rules in the higher latitudes.
