The drought in Victoria coming at a time when ship, ments are lighter from Europe, is answerable for tile present short conditions. Canadian, Vjs to SisyNew Zealand, 7Ss to 80s. , ~ I LONDON WOOL SALES. * Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London office under date the »sth inst.: — "Wool sales closed very firm. As compared with last sale's closing rates greasy merinos were 10 to 15 cent, higher, except short and wasty, which wero '5 per cent, dearer. Scoured merinos were 15 to 20 per cent higher, except short and faulty, which showed a rise of 10 per cent. Bulky scoured stained piece's and locks wer e 23 per cent, higher. Greasy fine crossbred advanced 5 to 10 per cent.; medium and coarse 10 per cent., and scoured crossbreds 5 per cent. Slipes' were par to 5 per cent, •higher. The total net quantity of colonial wool availbale amounted to 93;000 bales. Sales to the Home trade amounted to 60,600 hales; sales to the Continent, 5000 bales; 'sales to America, 10,000 bales; quantity not offered, 10,700 hales: quantity withdrawn from sale, 800 bales.
