China and Japan
MIKAD, FORCES THE PACE. Received 10, 11.20 p.m. New York, March 10. A message from Pekin states that the Japanese Ambassador handed the Chinese Foreign Minister a Note interpreted to imply that unless the Japanese demands are accepted by the 12th force will lie employed. Although this'is not accepted as an ultimatum. Yuan-Shih-Kai conferred with Cabinet and decided to expedite'the settlement of the demands to which China could agree. TOO GREAT A RISK.
