The Clan Macrae sighted the submarin six hundred feet away, twelve miles froi the Mersey bar, and warned vessels i the. vicinity. Official.—Three steamers were tor ' ' pedoed and sunk on Tuesday. The Tang istau, off Scarborough, only one survivo out of 38 aboard; the Blackwood, of: Hastings; and the Princess Victoria, of Liverpool. The crews of these latter ves sels'were saved. Received Marcli 10, 11.20 p.m. London, March 10. Half of'the Tanistan's crew were Las cars. Tiie steamer sank in four minutes, dragging down the lifeboats. The Prin cess Victoria sighted the torpedo, but had no time to manoeuvre, and sank ir ten minutes. German newspapers claim that the submarine UIG cruised in the Orkneys, Shetlands, and the Faroe Islands, chased the Laertes, sank the Delwieh, St. Hie de Lille, and Dinsrah.
