, WAEBA. For the ;ttVnual school picnic and distribution of prizes the day was fine ani the gathering very successful. The childrt?; with their parents, assembled at the hall ehCt'y after eleven o'clock, and then, after a feast of delicious cakes, etc., the prizes were distributed. As each child passed his or her respective standard at the recent examination every one received a handsome bojlc. After the prize distribution the chairman cMr. W. B. Clarke), in "a neat little speech, complimented the teacher (Mrs. Barak) on the results of the examination, and called on the children for three hearty cheers for her. These were most vociferously given. A very pleasant afternoon was spent I in the Warea Recreation Grounds, races being the chief amusement of the younger children, while the elder ones engaged in various games. A sue. ccssful dance ended a most enjoyable day.
