HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. Wellington. March 8. Tlie High Commissioner reports under date London, March 7: — Paris on Saturday night reported that north of Arras the Germans, employing large effectives, were seriously checked. Progress in the Voges at Hartmanns-Willerkopf extends over three hundred yards of the enemy's trendies. Cin the evening of the sth the Allies repulsed a counter-attack opposite CTliolz. exploding an ammunition depot at C'crnay. • The Sunday report states that the Allies are continuing their gain north of Arras, their counter-attacks capturing several trenches. The enemy's loss".* were unimportant. In the Vosges on the north bank of the Fecht the French captured Tmberg. The success was vnhanced by the capture of Hill R-lfi am! Hautes Chuttcs. At Hartmanns-Willrr-kopf a counter-attack by a battalion was repulsed with heavy losses to the enemy and many prisoners.
