SUDDEN DEATH. > J Palmerston North, March 5. 1 A man dropped dead at Palmerstois station at mid-day. The name on his portmanteau was C. J. Ward. ;!•>, wail evidently a 'passenger by the tram goi in}- north. „ V' .MOTOR-CAR ACCIDENT. Palmerston N., Last Night. * A motor-ear, containing tlirec was 'proceeding down a hill near Palmerston, when a tyre hurst, and the can capsized. A lady passenger named Mrs. \\ entworth, of Wellington, sua-i tained a -severe leg wound. The occupants of a passing ear rendered firsts aid, and carried the passengers to Lin« ton station, where they left for Wellington. The ear fired, and was/left ori the road.
J A STRANGE FATALITY. . I Wellington, Last Night. A woman named, Minnie McNeill, rein Eginont street, was arrested ' last night on a charge of drunkenness. She appeared to be quite well . during the night, but this morning slle became unwell, and, was seized with a fit in the cells. She received attention, ' and it was discovered that she had swallowed her false teeth. She was removed to 1 the hospital, where an operation was performed to remove the teeth. While under the. anaesthetic the patient collapsed, ,'uul died shortly after midday. v
KILLHDON THE RAILWAY. • 'Auckland, Last Night. A man named Patrick Latimorc, 50 years of age, was working on the rail.way near Parnell tunnel, when lie was knocked down by the incoming Rotorua' express, and fatally injured. He died al« '< moat immediately. , '
