BELGIAN RELIEF FUND. Received 3, 8 p.m. Sydney, March 3. Mr Holman has stated that the Government is prepared to arrange for temporary shelter or permanent immigration for Belgians. PATRIOTIC WOMEN. MEAT FOR IMPERIAL AUTHORITIES. Received March 3, 9.35 p.m. Sydney, March 3. The Women's Liberal League has presented five more field kitchens to the expeditionary force. The first cargo of meat for the Imperial authorities is being despatched this month. Thereafter consignments will follow as rapidly as posible. 'Mr. Cann states that the prices at which the meat was secured was below London .parity, and lower than the prices in Victoria and Queensland. He did not anticipate any interference or increase in ijhe prices of the local markets.
GENERAL NEWS ITEMS. Melbourne .March 3. Advices from Colombo anticipate an advance in tea prices. It is stated that the Government lias -purchased two additional cargoes of Argentine wheat, making the total purchases 1.300,000 bushels. The Victoria Kacinc Club has voted £,IOOO to the-Belgian Fund. Mr. Fisher expressed satisfaction at the attitude of the New South Wales Government to the fund. He stated that probably the Federal Government would later do something, the majority of members of the Cabinet favoring that course.
Brisbane, March 3. The Prize Court condemned tFe interned German steamer Signal and ordered it to be sold. Sydney, March 3. The Commodities Commission ruled that soap is not a necessary commodity. The Servian Relief Fund grows slowly. It has reached £1702.
