Owing to both the victims i n . the shooting being in a serious condition and unable to make statements, details are meagre. West and' Parkinson ,had been on intimate terms for some time, the girl having obtained a.marriage license •from the registrar, but the parties had not married. When Parkinson met West and Ford they had an altercation, and Ford tried to. intervene, but- without effect. West and Parkinson left him. and entered- a clump of willows near by, and shortly afterwards shots were heard.'
