NORMANBY HORTICULTURAL SHOW.

- GREAT EXHIBITION OF FLOWERS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Thirty-second Annual Show ir connection with the Normanby HortiI cultural Society opened yesterday after noon in ideal weather. There was a good attendance of the public. The arrangements were perfect, and the display of cut blooms and ->ot plants was the best seen here for some yean. .Some disappointment was felt "at the Government display not being shown as in previous years, but owing to several unforeseen circumstances it was impossible to forward it in time for the show. The entries in all classes were well up to previous years. Mr F. C. Baines was indefatigable -n his attention to his duties as secretary and was ably assisted by the president, Mr R. J. Linn. The display of bouquets by the school children was a very fine one, and the Society is to be congratulated on making a feature of children's exhibits. The garden produce display is worthy of special mention, and the judges of this section, Messrs F. Gillanders and R. Lambie. remarked that the display of vegetable.-, was the best they had seen for many years. The executive worked hard to ensure the success of the show, and f -ere well rewarded. It is c—-' ' that to-day the show will be err■->-,•>!. Executive.—President: Mr R. J. Linn. Secretary: Mr F. C. Raines. Committee: Messrs. F. Andrews. T. Fre!> G W M;iehell. R. Richards, W. Pollock.
