Tha police have been informed by telephone from Opunake that Ne'llu; Theresa Humphries, aged l(i months, daughter of Charles Humphries, of Te Namu Bond, near Opunake, died from l' burns on Sunday afternoon. The Coro'ner has been informed and has given instructions for an in<|uest to bo 'held by a justice of the peace. BURIED BY LAND-SLIDE. Gisborne, Last Night. An elderly man named M. O'Sullivan, fd on the public works- at Ngaiufa,, was caught by a land-slide this afternoon, and almost completely buried under tons of debris. When ex'tricated he was found to be terribly injured, having sustained a broken wrist, broken ribs, and a fractured skull. He is now in the hospital at Gisborne.
