BOMBARDMENT SUCCESSFULLY CONTINUED. MORE FORTS DESTROYED. POWDER MAGAZINE BLOWN UP. Received 1, 10.55 p.m. Athens, March I. The Allied fleet continued the bombardment of the inner forts in the Dardanelles on Saturday afternoon, blowing up a powder magazine at Mecliou. Many were killed or wounded. The fleet in the evening penetrated to Carophomia lighthouse near the Forts Hedcl Bahr and Thanakale. The forts on the European side were silenced. The Allies landed artillery near by and destroyed the forts, .where the AngloFrench flags are no' fifing.
A FORT EXPLODED. A WHOLE GARRISON KILLED. Received I, 10.55 p.m. Paris, March I. The Press states that the fort at Hedel Bahr blew up, with the entire garrison. The fire of the Turkish artillery was very bad. A SENSATION IN EGYPT. THE PEOPLE ASTOUNDED. Received 1, 10.55 p.m.Cairo, March 1. News from the Dardanelles caused a sensation in Egypt. People were almost astounded to realise that after centuries the account against Turkey is being finally settled. The events there will seriously affect Djemmel' Pasha's plans.

SERIOUS SHORTAGE OF COAL. THE GOEBEN DISABLED. Received 1, 5.30 p.m. Times and Sydney Sun Services. t London, March L A resident of Constantinople states that owing to bad coal the Gocbcn has been reduced to sixteen knots. Her two after guns are out of action, and her rudder out of gear. There are only two months' supply of coal in the city, failing which there will be no electricity for light or trams.
