Law and Inglewood met on Western Park, and at drawing of stumps tlic pos tion appeared to be very even, Law having put up the respectable total of 138, whilst Inglewood have 20 on for the' loss of one wicket. Bewiey aiiu Billing opened for Law, and carried the score to 37 before Billing was run out for 15. Elliott played carefully, and carried the score to 51 before he was bowled by Smith. At five for CS Truhy King (42) was joined by Grey (17), and these two put up a stand, though both gave several chances, and the innings closed for 138. Inglewood opened with McKenzie and McDonald, and both playing good cricket, the score stood at 25 when McKenzie was caught for 14. Detailed scores: —

Martin (23) was the only man to do anything with the country team's bowling, .Tupp and O'Neill being the principal trundlers, and Albion's score closed for 50. Tikorangi opened badly, losing Roberts and Jupp for 8 runs, and six wickets were down for 32. Lye then got going, but no one could stay with him, and nine wickets were down be f ore the winning hit was made. Sarten then got busy, and when he left for 24 the score was 00, with Lye (32) undefeatetdr Albion, in their second innings, were disposed of by Tikorangi for 32, Sutherland (10, not out) being tile only doublefigure scorer. Best scores: ('ate 50, and Kodgcrs 45, for Petone; and Bray 4S for North. University gained a two-point victor} over Old Boys, winning on the first innings by 105 (McTntosh 113). Central beat East, getting a tw.ipoint win. On the previous Saturday Central made 430. Yesterday East replied with 10S (Bilker 4S, Hatchings 42). Following on, they had three v. iekets down for 13!t (Nash 42), when stomps were drawn.
