THE SHOW STOCK SALE.
GOOD MJICL'S OBTAINED. The annual sale of 'pedigree stock, held on the Show grounds yesterday, attracted a good attendance. Pedigree •Jerseys and A\ rehires were submitted on be'ialii of well-known breeders, and though bidding, .was, on the whole slow, prices for well-bred cattle with, very few exceptions were better than have been experienced at similar sales within this last two years, A pleasing feature was the success achieved .for a K.C.'.B. bull, bred by a local fancier, Mr A. Colson, who offered to cancel the sale in the event of the buyer, after inspection, being not satisfied that the dam (although a pedigree Jersey) was not a genuine and good'butter-fat cow. This line youngster realised 59 guineas, the highest price of the sale, after very spirited bidding. The top bid for Mr. K. Griffiths' bull Grannie's Knight, was 70 guineas, but the bull was passed in at that figure. Mr C. Goujter, of Hawkesbury, Blenheim, had- a number of pedigree Jerseys' .for -sale, but their condition was nothing likes what local buyer* ar.? used to. many of them were passed. Messrs. S. Shaw and C, Fairbrother capably wielded the hammer. The following line* were disDoS'>'l of:' ijggr--*-"- - . -.-—yi ZEDIGKEE JEBSEYS.
