THE BANNER COMPETITION. The banner competition was continued yesterday afternon. The promise of keen greens was unfulfilled, the slight shower of the early afternoon having a detrimental effect. The two matches in New Plymouth resulted in surprises, the ■ l'itaroy* team beating the "West Endcrs. who are leading in the competition, and New Plymouth B winning from the A team. Had the A's been "up" on their club-mates, the position would have become interesting on account of the West End defeat at Fitzroy. NEW PLYMOUTH A V. NEW PLYMOUTH B. Five rinks were engaged in this match, which gave the B's a majority on the aggregate of & bare point, the totals being 12i and 121.
