BIRTH-RATE SLIGHTLY LOWER. EXCESS OF ARRIVALS OVER DEPARTURES. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association^ Wellington, last night. Tables showing the number of arrivals in and departures from New Zealand during the year 1914 are published in the Gazette to-night, Tlie total number of persons who arrived in the Dominion during 1914 was 37,G4G, and departures during the year numbered 32,500, the excess of arrivals over departures for the year thus being '5140.
