PKO-WAU DEMONSTRATIONS IN ITALY. Received 24, 5.25 p.m. Milan, February 24. Several thousands demonstrated in fi>vor of war intervention. They smashed the windows in the oflice of the Avanti. the pro-neutralist Socialist newspaper and wrecked a German shop. The police dispersed the demonstrators in front of the German Consulate. GERMAN SOP TO ITALY. UNDERGROUND INFLUENCES AT WORK. Received 24. 10.25 p.m. London, February 24. Rome reports that Germany is oll'oring Italy concessions at the expense of Austria in regard to continued neutrality. The armed might of Germany looms threatening in Italian eves. Italians disbelieve the existence of a British Army, beyond some reinforcements of the expeditionary force and a few scratch territorials.
